We all love the beautiful flowing letters of cursive fonts to make our projects perfect, but let's face it… some of them can be so difficult to cut! We have put together this list of script fonts that are perfect for cutting! Often fonts that are too thin or have a distress added to them can really be hard to get a clean beautiful cut, so you will find none of that here! We will show you a sample of the font and tell you why we love each one so much below!
Before we start I have a few resources you might need if you are new to using fonts with your Silhouette or Cricut. Using new and fun fonts with your machine is one of the most fun ways to get creative with your design and make it your own.

10 Script Fonts Perfect for Cutting
-
Aurella Font
My first pick is Aurella. It has pretty much everything you could want in a script font. It is classic, the lines are bold enough to cut well, and there are tons of stylistic alternates. This font is also PUA encoded so you can easily access all of the pretty extras to customize your design! (See How to use Glyphs with Silhouette Studio)
-
Broadway Font Package
This is a vintage script made modern. The collection comes with both distressed versions great for print design, and clean versions of the font perfect for cutting. This package also comes with a serif font perfect for pairing with your script for an easy font combination. I absolutely love the bold lines the script font for cutting and how the classic lines make it usable for male or female projects.
-
Just Hello Font
This font is pure perfection! If you love little extra details, you will love the stylistic extras including all sorts of hearts incorporated into the text, above, below, to the sides, and even in between. It is really something special to add to your projects.
-
Girl Boss
This font duo is the perfect hand brushed style font for cutting. It is bold, and unlike some brush fonts, it is very smoothed which makes it east to cut. Also, the font purchase includes a bolded version which gives you a really nice line making it easier to cut, weed and apply.
-
Masterblush
These bounce lettered fonts are extremely trendy and popular, but many times they are also super thin making them challenging to cut. I really like Masterblush because it still maintains the delicate look but has the thickness you need for a good cut. The other thing that makes this font really great is that it comes with the alternates and swashes in an additional font file. This makes all of the pretty swashes super easy to access on any computer!
-
Mattoa
This font is fantastic for a big bold script to use on sports uniforms or sports inspired projects. It comes with several different options for swashes that come down under the word to give you just the look you are after. All the choices make it easy to create the perfect project.
-
Snuggle Font
Snuggle is the perfect hand lettered font! With thicker lines on the downstrokes and thinner on the upstrokes, it gives you a realistic brushed look all while being smooth enough and thick enough to cut well.
-
Hello Dina
Although Hello Dina is just another script font, it can really hold its own unique place with the upright lettering. This font makes the list based on the uniqueness and wide appeal of the script. This font could be used anywhere from holiday cards to t-shirts!
-
Hammerte Script
This delecate font combines stylish calligraphy with smoothlines for the perfect combo for cutting! This font has more glyphs and stylistic alternates than any other font on this list! It gives you great bang for your buck and is seemingly endlessly customizable. Even though it is delicate, I think the smooth lines make it an easy cut!
-
Motherlines Vintage Toolbox
This font is actually packaged as a nice sized collection that gives you vintage, bold, regular, script, and serif options. The bolder (non vintage) script is my choice for cutting, but I love when the font creators give you a whole toolbox of things to design with! My other big reason for adding this font, is that I think it is perfect for projects you do for the men in your life. There are very few cursive fonts that would be suitable for a masculine project but this one just hits the nail on the head!
That is my collection of fonts that I adore for cutting! Make sure to check out The Hungry Jpeg for deals on fonts, and if you have another font that you love for use with your cutting machine, please let me know in the comments!
